INTEGRABLOK®
The latest advancement in transit block technology, Integrablok® is a patented, integrally molded product designed for attaching brake lining to brake shoes, to solve cracking, noise and warpage problems commonly found in the demanding transit bus and coach industry®.
Integrablok® works by integrally molding the friction material to the Integrablok® steel plate, which provides both radial and circumferential locking. Using a specially formulated transit friction material, Integrablok® comes with noise dampening agents and integrates the friction material right onto a steel meshed backing plate to become one permanent unit. Integrablok® can then easily be bolted onto the brake shoe for performance unlike anything on the transit market today®.
Installation is fast and easy. Integrablok® bolts from the back of the brake shoe into the steel backing plate. The bolt also becomes an integral part of the unit, eliminating the problem of debris lodging into the braking surface area of the block, thus creating more working area and less drum scoring.

Say Goodbye to Standard Bolt-On and Bonded Block Problems
The advanced design of Integrablok® means technicians can say so long to problems associated with standard bolt on and bonded blocks. Integrablok® eliminates cracked and split blocks during the relining process, due to over-torquing of the attaching bolts. The elimination of the bolt holes and counter bores also prevents road debris from getting trapped in these voids between the friction and drum, contributing to drum scoring and noise. Transit fleets will appreciate how long Integrablok® consistently lasts compared to either bonded or bolt on block. This patented design allows the entire wear thickness of the block gets used. Standard bolt on & bonded transit block can work loose from the extreme temperatures encountered in service. This in turn can lead to elongated bolt holes, broken linings and noise, forcing fleets to perform premature brake service.
Friction Stability
Integrablok’s strength is assured by a special process of integral molding, an assembly process that exceeds typical block to shoe bond strenght, creating a permanent bond between the friction material and backing plate. Acceptable shear values for bonded linings are attained at 45,000 PSI minimum levels. Integrablok typically exhibits shear values in excess of 75,000 PSI – creating a transit block that’s bonded for life.
